Dutch Academy Eindhoven offers intensive Dutch language courses to highly educated foreigners who are non-native speakers. This intensive Dutch course is intended for absolute beginners. This Dutch Course is a comprehensive program designed for individuals who are new to the Dutch language and prefer a classroom learning environment.
What will you learn?
The A1 level signifies that this course is specifically tailored for absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of Dutch. It covers the fundamentals of the language, including basic vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and sentence structure. During the course, you will learn to communicate in Dutch in everyday situations. Throughout the course, priority is given to understanding and producing basic spoken Dutch for survival. In this intensive Dutch course, students deal with the entire elementary grammar of Dutch and build up a vocabulary of about 1.000 words within 11 weeks.
Classroom activities
This intensive course is designed to provide a strong foundation in Dutch language proficiency within a relatively short timeframe. Through a combination of interactive lessons, exercises, and group activities, learners will engage in a variety of hands-on experiences to enhance their speaking, reading, and writing skills. The course activities are founded upon various tasks. These tasks are functional, and are directly linked to a concrete situation, such as ‘having conversations with people on the street’ or ‘a basic job interview’. By using multimedia, the teacher provides learners with opportunities to develop the four language skills; listening, reading, writing and speaking.
Feedback & support
The course will be conducted by experienced Dutch language instructors who are well-versed in teaching methodologies for in-person classes. They will provide personalized feedback and support, ensuring that students receive the necessary guidance to progress in their language learning journey.
Speaking test
The course concludes with a final test. When you complete your Dutch course, you will receive a certificate of Dutch Academy Eindhoven. By completing the Intensive Beginners Dutch Course in Eindhoven A1 level, students will acquire the necessary language skills to engage in simple conversations, understand basic texts, and navigate everyday situations in a Dutch-speaking environment. This course is an ideal starting point for those who prefer in-person learning and wish to further their Dutch language studies and explore more advanced levels in the future.

We accept a limited number of students each year. Please take our placement (admission) test and follow instructions. This test is mandatory.

*Our Native Dutch speakers are online every evening except Saturdays and Sundays. If you already speak a little of Dutch, you can start practising this week!

What is a hybrid class? Online and Face-to-Face students will be merged in a hybrid course (online and offline students following the same lesson in one class at the same time). It means that some students will be participating from their homes and some of them will come to the class. The maximum number of participants is 12 (online + offline students). Online and offline students will be able to participate equally in the lessons and get exactly the same amount of attention from the teacher. The only difference is that you will be staying at home or sitting in the classroom. You have the freedom to try both the online format and the face-to-face lessons (to see what works best for you) during the course, as long as you notify us in advance.
